Detailed Washing
Detailed Interiors
Its not just about the decks and the hulls and the canvas, is it? Its also about the locker sills and the vinyl seats and the engine hatch, the sparkling windows and the dry cockpit. We'll meet with you and go over exactly how you like to find your boat when you are ready to go out.
Spring cleaning, fall bed downs and all the touch ups in between. Heads, fingerprints and vacuuming, sparkling interior windows (even the windshield!). We use only the bare minimal chemicals, mainly diluted vinegar and a bathroom cleaner. Prefer your products? We are happy to work with what you have on board in all or some areas of the boat. If you aren’t sure what to use on the interiors, most Yachties use PH balanced cleaners, and ‘homemade’ solutions - primarily vinegar/water/alcohol mixtures. Regular household cleaners are not recommended - they can cloud high polish varnish (goes milky), leave residues that are hard to remove over time, and erode the finish on countertops.
Stainless Polishing
We use premium stainless polishes and can offer this in a two step or one step process according to budget. A two step process removes stainless oxidation and seals the stainless against further weathering. A one step process does not remove as much oxidation and seals the stainless for a shorter length of time. Rust spots are removed in both cases, except for severe rust. Please note that rusting fasteners and contact of dissimilar metals will continue to rust unless the source of the rust is addressed, polishing will not prevent continual rust run off.
Teak Detailing (Wooden decking)
Love the orange? 2 part acid cleaning is the standard for teak cleaning. It really does revive the teak but it is hard on the soft grains of the wood and there are proper tools and methods to know. Best done once per year in the spring, or twice per year maximum. There are Eco-friendly options that are better for the environment, though do not provide the same ‘like-new’ effect. The product cost for this service is added to our hourly rate as the products are expensive.
Raw teak is the easiest to maintain, however if you insist on treating it after cleaning, we recommend Semco sealer. We do not recommend oil for the Pacific North West unless you are prepared for a vigorous maintenance schedule. Call to discuss.
